About the Japanese Montessori School
The Japanese Montessori School is for preschoolers and kinder age children. It is located in the Klahanie neighborhood, near Issaquah Washington (10 miles east of Bellevue). The Japanese Montessori School offers an intimate and friendly atmosphere to the students.
The Japanese Montessori School is a Japanese Immersion School. This means that students can learn Japanese language and culture as well as receiving the benefits of a Montessori education.
Students learn very effectively because of a low teacher to student ratio, one teacher with 5 students or less, two teachers with over 6 students.
Students can choose their own work from Practical life, Sensorial, Math, Language (Japanese), Culture and Science during their work time. The teacher observes the students and encourages them to take on challenges.
The School uses a Japanese preschool/pre-kindergarten approach as well as the Montessori Method. Students can learn about Japanese language and Japanese culture as well as North American culture and rest of the world.
We have a circle time twice each day. During these times, students learn many things, such as Japanese language, Japanese songs, Japanese sign language, math, science and culture, etc.
Ms. Hihara teaches students in Japanese but if the students need help, she gives individual guidance in English. However, the main purpose of this school is to provide and immerse students in the Japanese language so that they can learn Japanese or reinforce the Japanese they already know and use. This school is for both native and non-native Japanese people.
The Montessori Japanese School has two cats and they are very friendly. The students are very happy to see them. |
